How do I open my Volt 3a retirement custody account?

It’s very simple: Those who are already Vontobel Volt clients can open their Volt 3a custody account in just a few clicks in the app. New clients first download the Vontobel Volt app onto their smartphone and create a user account in just a few minutes.

Good to know: Volt 3a is available to all gainfully employed individuals who reside in Switzerland and whose income is subject to AHV contributions. The minimum initial investment amount is CHF 500. Subsequent deposits can be made without a minimum and in any amount.

Pillar 3a has an annual maximum amount that may not be exceeded. This differs depending on the employment relationship and can change from year to year.

Your costs with Volt 3a consist of two types of fees: One is the annual fee for Volt to access Vontobel’s investment expertise and to have your portfolio actively managed. The other is the financial instrument cost, usually depending on the traded products. However, there are limits on these costs ranging from 0.15 to 0.17% (as of November 2025) per annum, depending on the chosen risk profile, so you have complete price certainty. Everything else is included in the annual fee.
