She always looks at the big picture and keeps her most precious asset in mind. Read the short interview with Investment Analyst Almasa Cormehic.
Almasa Cormehic joined Vontobel in January 2019, first as a Junior Investment Manager. Beginning 2020, she switched to the Megatrends Investing Team, where she has now the role of an Investment Analyst and is responsible of managing the “Smart Farming” and “Family Influenced Businesses” strategies.
Try to stay rational and understand the underlying drivers of a new product/company. We may sometimes feel a lot of hype on novelties. Our goal is to understand whether it will really have a significant impact over the next decade.
I generally start by reading and organizing my e-mails to get informed on what is going on in the markets and whether there is any specific sector or company news. Then, depending on the day of the week or the month, I may spend time reviewing my investment universe, writing weekly or monthly updates, reading about sectors or companies within my portfolio or watchlist, participating in conference call with sector experts or company management.
Since our team is managing megatrends investments, we are analysing innovative products, companies and sectors, and getting a feeling of how the society may look like in the next decade. That is, in my point of view, the most interesting part. I also learn a lot from so many smart people around me.
